Seoul Fashion Week

After New York, London, Milan, and Paris, Korean designers will take their turn at showcasing their 2010 Spring/Summer collections at Seoul Fashion Week. This season’s event kicks off today with the 39th Seoul Collection. This is a two-day event organized by the Seoul Fashion Artist’s Association (SFAA) at the EL Tower in Yangjae-dong. Seoul Fashion Week, the eight-day industry event, starts this Friday and runs until October 23rd.

Today’s Seoul Collection schedule features shows by Bakangchi, Jinteok, Dong-jun, Rosungun, Rubina, and Shin Jang-kyoung. Tomorrow’s line-up includes designers Kim Eun-hee, Kim Dong-soon, Park Jae-won, Park Youn-soo, Choi Yen-ok, Sul Yun-hyoung, and Kim Chul-ung.

Seoul Fashion Week

Seoul Fashion Week promises runway shows by 43 Korean designers and a fashion fair with Korean brand clothing, shoes and accessories on display at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Centre (SETEC). Menswear opens the week from October 16th to 17th and will feature collections from Mvio, Andy&Debb, Line or Circle, Songzio Homme, Slingstone, and Caruso. The womens collections start on October 18th with shows by Ha Sang-beg, Cho Sung-kyong, Imseonoc, Doii Lee, Hwang Jae-bock, Kwak Hyun-joo, Jeone Mi-young, Han Song, Lee Young-hee, and Vack Yuunzung throughout the week. Top designers, Song Jain and Gee Choon-hee, will close the event on October 23rd. Some of the most anticipated shows of the week feature international designers of the moment, Phillip Lim (U.S.), Damir Dona (Croatia), and Richard Nicoll (Australia), who have been invited to show from October 17th to 20th. Other events include a global forum that explores contemporary trends in the fashion industry and “Generation Next”, a run of shows featuring emerging Korean designers, at the Bailey House from October 19th to 21st.
